Prepare to “lose” yourself all over again. 50 Cent says he’s working with Eminem, on whose life the semi-autobiographical film is based, on a TV version of 2002’s 8 Mile.

“I’m going to put his 8 Mile on TV,” revealed 50 Cent an interview with Big Boy from Real 92.3 on Friday January 6th. “We are on the move. …It’s going to be big. I am working.”

50 Cent said Eminem didn’t need convincing to adapt the story for the small screen. “I think it should be there for his legacy,” he added.

In the film 8 Mile, Eminem played an aspiring Detroit rapper named B-Rabbit and shared the screen with Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer and the late Brittany Murphy. Written by Scott Silver and directed by Curtis Hanson, 8 Mile has grossed more than $242 million worldwide on a budget of $41 million.

50 Cent also told Big Boy that the 8-mile TV show would be a “modern version” of the story, comparing his idea to Peacock’s Bel-Air, an updated version of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. “I want to be able to show and offer a lot more detail, things that you would say in an interview or different things that you’ve already used that you’ve published and stuff like that,” he said. “You’ll see those things on the surface and the temperaments of the characters.”

In addition to his rap career, 50 Cent has made a name for himself on the small screen as executive producer of Starz crime drama Power and its spin-offs, as well as ABC legal drama For Life and Starz crime drama BMF. “I don’t have any duds,” he said with a smile in Friday’s interview. “I’ll hit a hundred. I’ll hit a hundred.”
