Ana Navarro felt a sense of glee after watching Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy lose his bid to become Speaker of the House for the 118th Congress. The View co-host, who self-identifies as a Republican, revealed that she loved watching him lose a whopping 11 times during voting show on Friday January 6th. While she acknowledges how bad the turmoil is for the country, she felt a sense of elation knowing he was losing.

LONGEST HOUSE SPEAKER ELECTION SINCE 1859: While a minute’s silence was held at the Capitol to mark the two-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack, the House is paralyzed as Rep. McCarthy awaits a 12th Speaker’s Vote – #The view Discuss co-hosts. https://t.co/cVclFZQmjA pic.twitter.com/ZOdnO6Ec8A

Navarro spoke about the many concessions McCarthy has made to the few far-right Republican congressmen who have repeatedly voted against him, preventing him from taking the House position. She cited a concession he made that would allow any member to request the speaker’s removal. She said when he finally wins it will be the “worst day of his life” because of his lack of authority. “On his first day, he will be the most castrated House Speaker eunuch we have ever had. Yes, he’ll have the big office and he’ll have the painting for posterity, but he’ll have absolutely no power,” she told her View co-hosts.

Navarro said the Republican leader deserved every single loss because he openly met with the former President Donald Trump just weeks after the January 6, 2021 attack. “I know this is incredibly serious. I know it’s incredibly bad for the country. I know it’s bad for the institution of Congress,” she said. “I’m sorry. Spoil me because I enjoy every single vote he loses because he deserves it because he’s a snake and a weasel and a self-pitying coward and left three weeks after January 6th, to kiss Donald Trump’s ring — among other body parts — after Mar-A-Lago. You know what, Kevin? It’s yours.”

Later in the discussion, Navarro also spoke about how much the deals McCarthy made to win over Republicans voting against him felt very hypocritical when he talks about promises to “drain the swamp,” considering how much is given up. “You haven’t seen more evidence of swampiness than what Kevin McCarthy has been doing all week: negotiate it all away. He has already given away his backbone. He gave away his brain. He gave his soul away. He gave away a kidney,” she explained.
