A settlement was reached in the class action lawsuit against CD Project Red. Three more lawsuits followed through May 2021; These were later merged into a common suit.

Among the allegations made in the lawsuit against the famous Polish developer were that it made fraudulent claims to investors about the state of affairs and intentionally misrepresented the product for financial gain. An investigation by the Polish Office for Competition and Consumer Protection was launched in January 2021. In December of that same year, CD Projekt Red proposed a $1.85 million settlement, which it was Finally approved by a federal judge this week.
Under the terms of the settlement, CD Projekt Red need not acknowledge any wrongdoing on its part.

The game had an amazing 2022 with a string of achievements including surpassing 20 million copies sold. Just earlier this week, the game was recognized with The Steam Awards 2022 Labor of Love Award for Most Improved Game.
