Charles Barkley praises Denver Nuggets –
#Charles #Barkley #praises #Denver #Nuggets Welcome to Alaska Green Light Blog, here is the new story we have for you today:
Charles Barkley is known for his offbeat recordings. However, his recent “hot take” may not be hot at all. During halftime of the Nuggets Clippers game on Jan. 5, Barkley doubled his respect for the Nuggets this season with an interesting quote.
“I told you I thought the Nuggets were going to finish with the best record in the Western Conference,” Barkley said. “I think they’re the deepest team in the NBA. …Joker will do his thing. In my opinion it will come down to Jamal Murray. You have everything.”
It’s a nice feeling, but considering Chuck’s past with guarantees, Denver fans have reason to pause.

Sir Charles’ guarantee over Denver Nuggets at the start of the season
As previously hinted at, Barkley predicted that the Nuggets would finish first in the West before the regular season even started. His co-hosts Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith gave out names like the Los Angeles Clippers, the Golden State Warriors and even the Los Angeles Lakers when healthy. However, Barkley appeared to be the only one showing confidence in the Denver Nuggets’ now healthy roster. It seems like his prediction is coming true as Denver is 8-2 in the last 10 matchups and has the fifth-best defense in that span with a 110.6 defensive rating.
They’re getting their best win of the season. A game in which they defeated the Los Angeles Clippers with a final score of 122-91. It was so praiseworthy that the starters didn’t even play in the fourth quarter. Also remember that the Clippers played Kawhi Leonard, who had just six points in 18 minutes of play. Paul George also played and scored 3 points. This game showed how dominant the Nuggets can be when they play their best. While Barkley has some questionable attitudes at times, his recent one about Denver might not be questionable at all.
Denver’s season so far
The Nuggets currently sit first in the Western Conference with a 25-13 win-loss record. In their 10-game span, they’ve won in impressive fashion against teams like the Boston Celtics (currently ranked first in the Eastern Conference), the Phoenix Suns, and most recently the Los Angeles Clippers, as previously mentioned. This shows that Denver doesn’t only hit the bottom teams in the league.
They also transact deals against playoff-caliber squads. The Denver Nuggets still have a long way to go if they are to be taken seriously as a championship contender. Defense, despite their increased performance in the last 10 games, is still an issue and the bench is fickle at times. Also with the emergence of players like Bones Hyland and Christian Braun. However, that final stretch could be the point of the season where the Nuggets put it all together. They could prove that they are a serious contender this year.
