Google Maps and Apple Maps allow anyone to spy on you and violate your privacy by posting crystal clear images of the front of your home or aerial photos of your property on their websites and apps.
Google has encountered legal troubles amid growing concerns about people’s privacy. This included multiple instances of people being photographed through their windows without realizing it.
A Minnesota community successfully got Google to remove all pictures of their homes, something you can do yourself. You can also ask Google to blur images of your car, license plate and, perhaps most importantly, yourself.

After you’ve applied for your home to be redacted, you should receive an email confirmation asking you to perform reviews. After a few days it is worth checking whether your house is still visible. One thing to keep in mind if you have any doubts is permanently blurring your home on Google Maps.
