Desperate for safety in the seconds after the chaos of the shooting in Miami Gardens, French Montana and members of his team ducked into a fast food joint.
We have received video from a KFC restaurant where French and others have gathered to seek safe shelter. French doesn’t say much in the clip, but you can see him looking out at the scene.
A witness at the restaurant tells us that French stayed there for 30 to 40 minutes while the police arrived and the victims were taken to the hospital.

Up to 10 people were hit by bullets Thursday night, we reported, as gunfire rang out in a crowd gathered at The Licking restaurant to celebrate the release of French’s new mixtape, Coke Boys 6: Money Heist Edition.

It’s unclear what led to the shooting, but a witness at the scene tells us he believes it was the result of an attempted robbery during the celebration.
A French representative confirmed to us that he was not injured in the melee and that all are expected to survive… including a bodyguard who was in critical condition.

In a statement on Friday, French said: “Last night I was in Miami to celebrate the release of my CB6 mixtape with friends at a local restaurant. Unfortunately, we were in the wrong place at the wrong time when an incident occurred that left people injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families at this time.
Police have not made any arrests yet.
