Hailey Baldwin has opened up a little more about the “scariest” thing she’s “ever been through” in her life: a mini-stroke last year. The model and wife of Justin Bieber revealed this recently The run with Vogue Podcast that she has “PTSD” because she was taken to the hospital with a blood clot in her brain in March 2022. Hailey called the experience “very harrowing,” before adding, “It was definitely the scariest thing I’ve ever been through. ”

“I struggled with a lot of anxiety afterwards,” she continued. “I struggled a bit with PTSD [Post Traumatic Stress Disorder] as well as the fear that it might happen again. It was just a feeling that I never want to experience anything like that again. I mean, it was so terrifying, so upsetting, so confusing in every way you can imagine.”

After Hailey’s health scare was first raised in March, she embraced it Instagram to give fans the 411 of what happened. “On Thursday morning, I was having breakfast with my husband when I started having stroke-like symptoms and was rushed to the hospital,” she said wrote. “They determined that I had sustained a very small blood clot in my brain that was causing a slight lack of oxygen, but my body had passed it on its own and I made a full recovery within a few hours.” She continued, “Although this is definitely one was one of the scariest moments i have ever experienced i am home and fine now and i am so thankful and thankful for all the amazing doctors and nurses who took care of me! Thank you to everyone who reached out with well wishes and concerns and for all the support and love.”

Now, even months later, Hailey is “triggered” as she revisits Palm Springs, the city where the incident took place. “Even the first few times I came back here after that, it was a bit of an odd trigger for me because you just remember exactly how everything happened in that moment,” she explained on the podcast. “But I think the positive side for me is that I found out I had this hole in my heart.”
