Friday Night NBA Preview

Even after Tuesday’s loss to the Bulls, the Brooklyn Nets have won 12 of their last 13 games. The Nets have averaged (124.7) points per game in their last three games. Head coach Jacque Vaughn found a way to get the best out of his players and it has led to a lot of success. Brooklyn is currently 1.5 games behind the Boston Celtics in first place in the East. Kevin Durant leads the Nets with (29.9) points per game. Injuries have been a big part of the New Orleans Pelicans’ season so far. At the moment the team is without Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram as both rehab to get back on the pitch. They are 6-4 in their last ten and are coming off a win over the Rockets, 119-108. This game will be televised nationally at 7:30 p.m. on EPSN.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, coming into their game tonight, are 7-3 in the last ten and on a three-game winning streak. Donovan Mitchell (rest) will not play for the Cavs tonight and Darius Garland (thumb) is listed as questionable. Chances are Garland will play as the Cavs would be struggling mightily without either of the offensive productions from the two. Cleveland’s last game was a narrow 90-88 win over the Suns. Ohio sports betting sites have the Cavaliers at (+1800) to win the finals this season. Denver comes into play against the Cavs tonight as the first-seeded team in the West, but by an extremely small margin. Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets are 8-2 in the last ten. He’s once again at the forefront of the MVP conversation as he has 0.5 rebounds per game after hitting a triple-double.

Both the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns go into their matchup tonight with a 20-19 record. Ironically, both are also eighth-place finishers in their respective conferences. Miami is 6-4 in the last ten but has suffered an embarrassing 112-109 loss to a Lakers team without LeBron James or Anthony Davis. Luckily for them, their opponent may have more problems than they do. The Suns are 3-7 in their last ten and on a four-game losing streak. Devin Booker (groin) is out for at least another three weeks and Phoenix doesn’t look like the same team when he’s off the court. Since Booker left, players like Landry Shamet have twice topped the team’s scoring charts. It’s clear that without Booker, Phoenix has no scorers on the team.
