According to MBTA Transit Police, the driver got out of his car when he realized he was stuck. There were no injuries.
A commuter train struck a car that was stuck on the tracks in Ashland on Thursday night. MBTA Transit Police said.
The driver, an adult male, made a wrong turn near Front Street and landed on the tracks around 7 p.m. Unable to get off the tracks, he got out of the car, according to police.
The train then struck the vehicle, although transit police reported no injuries. The car was towed from the scene of the accident.
The incident delayed service by about 30 minutes, according to police.
This was confirmed by the MBTA on Twitter that Worcester Line Train 527 – the 6:05pm train from South Station – ran slightly behind schedule between Framingham and Worcester on Thursday evening.
