The Oscar winner said she was ready to join Taylor Jenkins Reid’s cinematic universe.

Jessica Chastain just sent BookTok into a frenzy.

The Oscar winner finally responded to the long-running fan cast of Netflix’s upcoming The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo adaptation.

During an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, Cohen brought up the project. “Jessica, you know – we’ve heard this a lot – how many people want you to play Celia St. James in the film adaptation of the novel ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’?” Cohen asked Chastain.

The George and Tammy actress replied: “I know there’s a thing online about it. Sure, send me a script.”

Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel follows the Golden Age movie star as she confides in a modern day journalist about her controversial past. Celia St. James is a fellow actress and close friend of Evelyn.

Social media account DeuxMoi debunked a previous fan theory that Anya Taylor-Joy was allegedly linked. Originally planned as a Freeform series The project is led by The L Word team Ilene Chaiken and Jennifer Beals switched to Netflix, starring Liz Tigelaar, creator of Little Fires Everywhere. Reid’s novel Malibu Rising also gets the green light for a series on Hulu, with Tigelaar serving as executive producer. Her novel One True Loves is confirmed as a movie starring Simu Liu, Phillipa Soo and Luke Bracey.

And, of course, Prime Video’s upcoming series adaptation of Reid’s novel, Daisy Jones and the Six, revealed its first look ahead of its March 3 premiere. Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Camila Morrone and Suki Waterhouse join the cast for the 1970s series about a fictional folk rock band inspired by Fleetwood Mac.

Meanwhile, actress and producer Chastain will star in another adaptation, Mother’s Instinct, opposite Anne Hathaway. Set in the 1960s, this suburban drama is a remake of director Olivier Masset-Depasse’s 2018 Belgian film Duelles, about two best friends and neighbors (Chastain and Hathaway) whose lives are changed after a tragic accident involving them their respective sons out of joint. The film is an adaptation of the novel Derrière la Haine by Barbara Abel.

Chastain, who is producing the film under her production banner Freckle Films, addressed the need for women-led stories in Hollywood.

“I had the idea [for first produced film ‘The 355’] right around the time of the MeToo movement and Time’s Up,” Chastain told C Magazine. “For years when this industry was discarding women of a certain age and determining whether or not they were sexually desirable and they were more jewelry than artists. And I was like, ‘Well, what if they’re actually the bosses? What happens when they’re in charge of the movies?’”
