After pacing up and down LG’s massive CES booth, the only coherent thought that came to mind was that microwaves have gotten too damn big in the past few years since smart home gadgets have become popular.
Then I stopped by LG’s show of upcoming stylers Shoecase and Shoecare and was mesmerized. It’s likely that I was tired and that my retinas were burned by the company’s big light show over the entrance of their booth, but I can’t stop staring at those rotating shoes. Mind you, I’m far from a sneaker fanatic, but if I were going to show off my kicks for all to see and I had enough money to actually make such an endeavor worthwhile, then putting them on a turntable would probably be my first choice .

The WiFi-enabled cases themselves are only available in black and white for now, but an app lets you turn on the rotation and control the mood lighting for each individual sneaker. The company has also opened up its shoe care cabinet, where two sets of twin nozzles stick into the collar of the sneaker and blow steam in to sanitize and remove the stink from your feet.
If it sounds like a lot, that’s because it is. We don’t know any price points or an exact release date, but if your target audience are sneaker fans with lots of extra cash, LG’s shoecases could sell easily.

The shoebox had already revealed last year at IFA 2022 but this hands-on made me put a lot of my little craft projects into it. Maybe my best Warhammer miniatures are worth some extra mood lighting.
Our team is based locally in Las Vegas, working around the clock to share the most important news and announcements from CES 2023. Here are some of the best reveals made at the show so far, and be sure to check back often for the latest and greatest.
