Boston Celtics point man Marcus Smart was eliminated from the team’s 121-116 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday with a bruised left knee
With less than eight minutes remaining in the third period, Smart struggled to fight Zach Collins’ tough screen, in which the reigning Defensive Player of the Year went down from the hard clash. Collins was penalized with an offensive foul while Smart was assisted up and hobbled in pain.
Marcus Smart had to be helped back to the dressing room after apparently bumping knees with Zach Collins trying to get through a screen.

As he headed into the locker room, Smart was eventually declared unavailable – he finished with five points, four assists and two rebounds in 22 minutes against the Spurs.
Per Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn, Smart x-rays were negative.
“Yes, I’m going,” Smart said. “But it’s a slow walk.”
Malcolm Brogdon stepped up to fill the void left by Smart, coming off the bench with 23 points, seven assists and two boards. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Cs with his 34 markers and four boards.
Boston now climbs to 28-12 as they return home from a long road trip to face the Chicago Bulls next Monday.
