Despite Tuesday’s jackpot not being hit, there were plenty of winners – according to Mega Millions, 2,904,737 winning tickets were sold for the January 3rd game. Prices ranged from $2 million to $4 million.
Mega Millions says only three jackpots were bigger than Friday’s, which has an estimated cash payout of $483.5 million. As of July last year, the price was the second-highest price ever, at an estimated $1.337 billion. This jackpot was won by a person in Illinois, mega millions reports.
