Pedro Pascal explains how his Last of Us and Mandalorian characters inform each other
#Pedro #Pascal #explains #Mandalorian #characters #inform Welcome to Alaska Green Light Blog, here is the new story we have for you today:
In a digital roundtable press event with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey that Looper attended, Pascal reflected on the similarities between Joel Miller on The Last of Us and Din Djarin, aka Mando, on The Mandalorian. On the surface, both characters are survivors and highly skilled in combat, but Pascal believes the similarities run much deeper than the fact that he filmed both roles at the same time.
“[‘The Last of Us’ and ‘The Mandalorian’ provided] an amazing double break for me and I think there are really, really strong comparisons in terms of their travels and their relationships,” Pascal noted. “With Joel, I think it was again a really fascinating opportunity to discover elements of the source material, from [showrunners] craig [Mazin’s] and Nile [Druckmann’s] Pages, from our sites, our sets, our [visual] effects [and] to be with Bella all the time. It really put all the pieces together for me and I continued to discover them.”
In hindsight, Pascal admitted that he’s only now realizing there was a bigger connection between his Last of Us and Mandalorian roles than he initially thought. “Maybe as for Mando and Joel… they were kind of related and informed each other,” Pascal added.
Starring Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, Nico Parker and Merle Dandridge, The Last of Us premieres on HBO on January 15, with new episodes appearing every Sunday through March 12.
