Brian McBride will not return as general manager of the US men’s national team, sources say a report by ESPN. McBride, who has 95 caps and scored 30 goals for the USMNT, was hired as the program’s GM in 2020.

With McBride out, US Soccer Director Earnie Stewart will oversee Gregg Berhalter’s ongoing review. Berhatler, who was hired as USMNT head coach in 2018, recently revealed he kicked his now-wife outside a bar 31 years ago after star midfielder Gio Reyna’s parents reported the information to US Soccer.

Berhalter’s contract with the USMNT expired at the end of 2022.

Anthony Hudson, one of Berhalter’s assistant coaches at Qatar 2022, will coach the US men’s national team on an interim basis, beginning with two friendlies in Los Angeles on Wednesday against Serbia and January 28 against the Netherlands.
